- IRAI SPHERES
- These spheres are made from Irai agate found in an area in Rio Grande
Do Sul, Brazil. The natural agate is distinguished by colorful banding
of blues, grays, whites and lavenders. The crystal cavities are made
to be the focal point of the sphere. The spheres are not machine made
but polished by hand and therefore are not calibrated. Geothite, an
iron mineral is often present as small black dots amidst the quartz
crystals. Occasionally calcite crystals are found in the cavities.

The prices are based on weight, quality of the agate itself, and the
degree of spectacular crystal openings within the sphere.
